Your Privacy Matters Labra is built on the principle that your health data belongs to you. We never sell your data. We never show you ads. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.
1
What We Collect
▼

Account Information: Name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).

Health Data: Lab test results, marker values, panel dates, and reference ranges that you voluntarily upload or enter.

Profile Information: Biological sex (used only to apply correct reference ranges).

Usage Data: Basic server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We do not use third-party analytics.

PDFs: Lab PDFs you upload are processed entirely in your browser. The raw PDF file is never transmitted to our servers — only the extracted marker values are sent.

2
How We Use Your Data
▼

We use your data solely to:

  • Provide and improve the Labra service
  • Display your health trends and insights
  • Apply correct reference ranges based on your biological sex
  • Send service-related emails (e.g., shared lab reports)

We do not use your health data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

3
Data Sharing
▼

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data may be shared only in these limited circumstances:

  • With your explicit action: When you use the Share feature to send a read-only link to someone
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority
  • Service providers: Hosting infrastructure (Hostinger) that processes data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements
4
Data Security
▼

We take reasonable measures to protect your data including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Passwords stored as secure bcrypt hashes — never in plain text
  • Session-based authentication
  • Shared reports protected by cryptographically secure tokens
  • PDF files processed in your browser — never stored on our servers

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but commit to promptly notifying affected users of any breach.

5
HIPAA Notice
▼

Labra is a personal health tracking tool, not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA. We are not a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse.

The health information you store in Labra is data you voluntarily enter yourself from your own lab reports. This data is not transmitted to us by your healthcare provider.

While Labra is not subject to HIPAA, we voluntarily adopt strong privacy practices consistent with HIPAA principles because we believe your health data deserves maximum protection.

If you have concerns about HIPAA applicability to your specific situation, please consult a qualified attorney.

Not Medical Advice — Please Read Carefully This disclaimer is important. It explains what Labra is and is not, and your responsibilities as a user.
1
Labra is Not a Medical Device
▼

Labra is a personal health tracking and visualization tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, clinical decision support system, or healthcare service.

Labra has not been reviewed, cleared, or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory body.

Nothing in Labra constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified physician or other licensed healthcare provider with questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
2
Reference Ranges Are General Guidelines
▼

The reference ranges displayed in Labra are general population guidelines sourced from publicly available medical literature. They are intended for educational purposes only.

Reference ranges can vary based on:

  • Age, biological sex, and ethnicity
  • The specific laboratory and equipment used
  • Time of day, fasting status, and recent activity
  • Medications, supplements, and medical conditions
  • Individual physiological variation

A result shown as "Out of Range" in Labra does not necessarily indicate a medical problem. A result shown as "In Range" does not guarantee good health. Only your healthcare provider can interpret your results in the context of your full clinical picture.

3
AI Insights Are Educational Only
▼

The marker insights and educational content provided in Labra are generated for general informational purposes. They are:

  • Not personalized medical advice
  • Not a substitute for a clinical evaluation
  • Not based on your complete medical history
  • Potentially outdated as medical knowledge evolves

Do not make changes to medications, supplements, diet, or lifestyle based solely on information provided by Labra without first consulting a qualified healthcare provider.

4
Emergency Situations
▼
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on Labra in emergency situations.

Labra is not designed for and should never be used in situations requiring urgent medical care or real-time clinical monitoring.

5
User Responsibility
▼

By using Labra, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You use the Service at your own risk
  • You will not make clinical decisions based solely on Labra data
  • You will consult a licensed healthcare provider for medical guidance
  • Labra is a supplement to — never a replacement for — professional medical care
  • You understand the limitations of general reference ranges
